In Vogue Brand/Campaign

Analysis

In Vogue is a brand that creates a wide variety of graphic tees and apparrel. The brand itself is primarily catered towards teens and college students. The goal along with creating the brand was to make a successful advertising campaign that included social media, print, and digital advertising elements.

In Vogue specifically means "in fashion" or "popular". So for the tagline I chose "Always in vogue". It helps to show that the brand is always up to date with trends, but also has reliable style options that provide customers with variety without sacrificing style.

Branding Elements

With in Vogue, the goal was to establish an authentic feel. The logo itself was created with real paint strokes and the sketches and doodles were also hand painted or drawn. The hand drawn sketches intentionally have a rugged feel to them. This aspect helped to establish cohesiveness and also maintain a bold and authentic feel.  The colors chosen were ones that could be bold and stand out, but could also be used in a subtle manner as well.

Type

The display typeface was one that complemented the logo and the authentic hand drawn feel. And for the primary font Helvetica Neue was chosen, as it can compliment the display font without competing with it.

Logo Process

To establish a hand drawn and rugged feel for my logo I used multiple mediums and sketched out the letters I and V countless times. The goal was to try different mediums and as many options as possible to get the best result.

Hand Drawn Marks

The hand drawn marks were a big part of the project and helped to maintain cohesiveness across all the pieces. It also helped with cohesiveness of the brand and establishing a foundation of what you will see from InVogue.

For the hand drawn doodles I took the same approach as the logo. Trying multiple mediums and focusing on a rugged feel. I printed out the photos of each model I used, put tracing paper on top, and sketched out numerous ideas to see what I liked the most. This was a good preface to my work before starting digitally, and I also grabbed certain pieces from each of my sheets of tracing paper. This helped me grasp exactly what I wanted for each piece and also gave me a lot to work with material wise.
